Benita Joy
Benita Joy is a Malayalee Christian and serves as the Chief Editor for South Asian Connection. She is a woman of faith, gifted in the area of leadership and administration, and has a heart for world missions. Her desire is to live a life that is pure and to serve God's purposes in her generation. Benita is pursuing a double major in English and Psychology at the University of British Columbia. She loves big cities, chai, the internet, roller coasters, international cuisines, music, and hanging out with friends. She is the youngest member of Team SAC, plays guitar with a baby pink pick (Yikes!), and she's not much taller than your average dwarf (don't tell her that).
So...I'm back in Atlanta. Back with Mom, Niki and Ammachi.
Back to having my own room along with my bed, my bathroom, my computer, my closet, my stuff, and of course, my beautiful red wall. Back to having high speed internet 24/7 at my fingertips. Back to variety in food choices. Back to my mom's cooking. Back to lovely hot showers, water I can drink without thinking twice, air conditioning, and stove tops that light themselves. Back to all my clothes...took my some time to re-familiarize myself with the stuff in my closet. I sat there for quite a while yesterday with my mouth open and eyes blinking, thinking, "This belongs to me?"
And then of course, back to doing nothing in particular. Back to eating, sleeping and watching tv. I guess I don't mind it for the moment...I'm tired and rest is sweet. But I'm not sure how long I can handle it.
I miss India...but I'll leave it to God.
And I will write about my six month adventure...as soon as I can take a step back and get my thoughts in order. There's so much to say...and much to say that can't be said.
Ma timilai maya garchu.
